The Castellano story begins in 1920 in a small artisan workshop in Madrid, where craftsmen handcrafted every shoe, from the design of the last to the final finish.

The process began with measuring the customer's feet for the subsequent creation of wooden lasts. Next, the artisan made the patterns to fit the lasts, resulting in a product of the highest quality. The raw materials, of the highest quality, came from the finest tanneries, and the leather soles from Igualada, Barcelona. Finally, the manual application of various waxes and creams gave the shoes an unparalleled quality.

The establishment of a loyal clientele, both men and women, who consistently order their loafers from Castellano, demonstrates the brand's status as a leading name in Madrid.

The brand's prestige grew between the late 1960s and early 1970s thanks to discerning customers who trusted in a high-quality, handcrafted product. Castellano introduced its famous foal-leather loafers with large fringes and tassels to Madrid's youth, along with accessories such as pins and handbags.

The 200 model, a landmark shoe, was launched in 1983. It broke all the rules of the Spanish footwear industry and, in the following decade, became the best-selling shoe, imitated by countless companies, thanks to its intricate stitching and pointed toe.

But the model that became Castellano's best-selling shoe ever, from its launch in 1989 to the present day, was the 800. Its rounded last, the quality of its leathers, and the high vamp have made this shoe a benchmark in the national market. Proof of this is the annual increase in sales, which now reach 20,000 pairs per year.

The union of tradition and innovation at Castellano has created new models such as the L100, the TRICALCE, and the 3511, crafted with leather from Padrón (Galicia) using traditional methods, just as we did in our early days.
